Samoan Language Week

This week was Samoan Language Week. In Room 6 we learnt a lot about Samoa and the Samoan culture. We watched Cultural Hub clips about the Samoan alphabet, animals and body parts. Did you know that the Samoan alphabet has only 17 letters. Also during reading time we did a scavenger hunt on facts about Samoa, we then searched the classroom for clues to complete our samoan puzzle. We had experts teaching us greetings and phrases, our experts were Matila, Remy and Rosa.

Maths Cube

Today we have done measurement in maths.
We did measurement in square meters. Mrs.Suggate drew a square and told some kids to get in, that was not us but we went in later. When the kids went in ,only four could fit in the square. My guess was four so I got it right!

We had some people who work at Science in a Van to come and teach us heaps about science.
This was fun and educational for all of us and interesting to watch.

My R.E Circle

Today I finished my R.E circle about the Season of Easter.  My wheel represents the love of the Lord Jesus and we made one thing about sacrament. And on the front I have my Jesus with The Risen Christ, above it.

Science

Today for Science we did an experiment on air and water pressure, then Mrs.Suggate brought out a balloon and asked Luka to blow it up to a descent size. Luka blew up the balloon and was instructed to push it down to the bottom of a water bucket that Mrs.Suggate had prepared. Then we watched as the mesmerising balloon refused to fall to the bottom, and quickly we heard a silent *POP* under water and it created a little splash out of the bucket.

Then 3 people had specific size to blow 1 balloon each, one was small, one was big and one was in the middle. Then the balloons where passed around to fell the pressure and we learnt more about air pressure and water pressure.
